Geo’s Story of Hope

Dear Friends,

This year, something incredible began.

At Jesus on Colfax, we launched the RISE Program, a residential job-skills and discipleship program helping people move from crisis to stability and into thriving, sustainable lives.

Every single person in RISE was first met on the street or in the motels through outreach. Each one found belonging in the Family Room, and from there took the next courageous step to join RISE. That is the heartbeat of our work: meeting people at rock bottom and walking with them every step of the way. One of those people is Geo.

He was kicked out of his home and living on the street. When the weather turned cold, he and his dad found an unlocked car to sleep in. When Geo first joined the RISE program, he still felt lost, unsure of who he was or what his future could look like.

Then something started to change. Through classes, Bible study, and daily life together, he began discovering who God made him to be.

This spring, Geo was baptized. He worked faithfully in the roastery at Jubilee Roasting Co. And he began to dream about the future again, this time about a future in the culinary arts.

Today, he is finishing a culinary program, planning to go to college, and saving toward his first apartment. Geo’s story is what we pray for every day: real transformation that begins with relationship, grows through community, and leads to restored dignity and hope.

As this year comes to a close, our year-end goal is $175,000. Your support helps us meet people in crisis on East Colfax with relationship, meals, job training, and the steady care that leads to lasting transformation.

Your generosity helps people like Geo be seen, loved, and supported every step of the way.

Would you consider making a year-end gift today to help more stories like Geo’s unfold in 2026?

Together, we are showing up, loving people, building relationships, and cultivating well-being.

Thank you for being part of this good work.

With gratitude,

Kayla Horne
